(CEN) CIRCULAR ECONOMY SPECIALIST

Job Description

 Identify, develop, and promote adoption of products and solutions that address circularity and circular economy in all CEMEX core business. 

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct R&D activities to generates circular products, construction recycling allowing CEMEX to keep its competitive advantages.
• Participate in the development of new circular technologies and coordinate industrialization in CEMEX operations
• Map concrete/construction demolition and circular economy landscape to identify opportunities, major challenges, actors, policies and regulations.
• Monitor relevant standards, norms and existing tools related to waste management, circular economy, and recycling
• Screen publications and patents, and research projects on circularity, waste management and recycling processes.
• Look for partnership to accelerate adoption of sustainable product and potential to improve life cycle analysis of materials
• Train and share knowledge with the rest of the company on circularity and recycling solutions
• Establish network with key external labs, research centers, and universities
• Generate new intangibles and strength CEMEX know-how

Qualifications

Language Proficiency

• Written and spoken English any other languages Spanish, German, French is an advantage

Academic Background

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in technical field

Areas of expertise

• Technical knowledge in Specialty in Sustainability / Circular Economy with expertise in norms, standards and testing protocol in this field is required

Technical Skills

•  Technical expertise in sustainability or waste management
• analysis, costing
• Knowledge of the Building sector: masonry, concrete construction, prefabrication, timber frame
• Site works experience preferred

Soft Skills

• Open mind, creativity, and ability to work in R&D environment
• Organized, self-sufficient, independent, and hard working

INTERNAL:

• Managers and researchers from other R&D areas
• CEMEX laboratories
• Technical and Operation Managers at CEMEX’s Concrete and Admixtures operations

• Raw materials suppliers
• Research centers, Universities
• 3rd  party customers, engineers, architects
