Job Description

Review and propose the related technologies for Carbon Capture Utilization & Storage (CCUS) starting from current best available, emerging technologies, synergies and CCUS chains.

Define the CO2 Technology agenda and as well the streams on where we shall invest for future decarbonization of the cement operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate a network of CO2 experts among the cement operations and provide insight and lead for future of decarbonization
  • Search for non-mapped technologies for CCUS
  • Study case by case the cement operations to find the best solutions for each specific case.
  • Define the barriers (technical, operational, mindset, status quo, CAPEX, OPEX) that the company must face to decarbonize the cement operations.
  • Build the cement operations CO2 Technology agenda to bring under the same umbrella all the technologies mapped and to be mapped.

Position Challenges

  • Bring CEMEX a clearer picture in terms of how a decarbonized operation should be.
  • Find the right technologies for each operation according to their geographical context
  • Achieve peers’ recognition in the field to be able to articulate the network
  • Maintain & evolve an internal networking with Sustainability, Ventures, Cement Operations

Qualifications

Bachelor degree or Master in Sciences, Chemical engineering, materials science 

5-7 Years of experience in Chemical engineering, Carbon Capture and utilization technologies, Innovation

English proficiency
