Job Description
Lead, Execute, and coordinate the construction chemicals and admixtures Global R&D activities and projects to ensure CEMEX remains at the forefront of concrete technologies and captures its value proposition.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead, Propose and Participate in the development of new construction chemicals and admixtures technologies
- Execute, manage, and coordinate with business units assigned R&D projects
- Support CEMEX Admixtures Global operation with products developments, troubleshooting, and improvements.
- Coordinate the industrialization of new construction chemicals and admixture innovations
- Identify opportunities for establishing intellectual property positions and pursue patent filings
- Establish network with key external labs, research centers, and universities
- Plan activities, coordinate resources and prioritize tasks within a portfolio of multiple projects
- Participate and support joint projects with other R&D Areas (construction products, cement products)
- Generate new intangibles and strengthen CEMEX’s know-how
Position Challenges
- Manage R&D projects’ deadlines and operation’s expectations
- Coordinate internal requests for admixture testing and development
- Ensure effective communication within the R&D team
- Train and motivate internal researchers/technicians
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Civil Engineering, Chemistry Engineering, Materials Engineering) Master’s degree in material science is a clear advantage
- Good communication and writing skills in English. Other languages are a plus
- Technical knowledge in cement and concrete technology, in concrete mix design norms and standards and testing expertise in this field is required
- +5 years of experiences in construction chemicals and/or R&D laboratories
- Open minded, create, and ability to work in both R&D and operation environment
- Organized, self-sufficient, independent, and hard working
