Job Summary

Loads bulk and finished product into trucks and rail cars to meet shipping schedules and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Load rail cars and trucks with bulk finished product by operating scale room loading system
  • Operate computerized shipping dispatch program to collect shipping data for accounts, billing and inventory reports
  • Operate trackmobile to move rail cars into loading position
  • Inspect and close rail cars to ensure the equipment is in proper working order
  • Take silo measurements and samples
  • Clean equipment and work area according to department housekeeping standards
  • Conduct inventory of rail cars
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on load‐out equipment according to department procedures
  • Communicate with customers, company distribution office, common carriers, and railroad personnel to confirm shipping schedules and miscellaneous shipping
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by a supervisor

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Must possess a current and valid drivers license
  • Must be bondable
  • Must successfully meet and maintain background requirements to comply with US Department of Justice Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearm and Explosives licensing requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic data entry skills
  • Knowledge of air slides, pneumatic actuators, gates and valves, and dust collectors
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • Effective verbal communication skills

Working Conditions

  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the location.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
