Job Summary

Repair, maintain and operate industrial equipment involved in the production of cement.  Safely and timely performs routine preventive maintenance inspections/repairs and lubrication of the plant equipment.  

Job Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks in a safe and professional manner in conformance with plant rules, quality standards and company policies.
• Responds to emergency call outs on an as needed basis.
• Inspects plant equipment for defects, such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
• Lubricates equipment.
• Effective execution of the overhaul outage plan.
• Advises when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
• Works out of crane basket and man-lift.
• Performs preventive and predictive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must have understanding of plant flow and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.  
• Must be able to do necessary lubrication, using proper lubricants and make minor repairs and adjustments

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to operate heavy equipment.  
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly.  
• Ability to comply with all MSHA & CEMEX safety regulations and able to utilize all required PPE.  

Working Conditions

Must be able to work in high levels of heat, cold, dust, height & noise.  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25lbs frequently – 50-100lbs occasionally, climb stairs, and ladders.  
• Ability to work in maritime and confined space environments.  Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb and crouch for extended periods.  
• Ability to work around electromagnetic fields generated by motors.
