Job title: FLEET MAINTENANCE MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE:
Under the direct supervision of the RM Operations Manager, this role leads the strategic management and performance of the ready-mix fleet, ensuring all vehicles and mobile equipment are maintained safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company and regulatory standards. The position focuses on leading maintenance teams, optimizing asset lifecycle and maintenance costs, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, and maximizing fleet availability to support uninterrupted operations, while fostering a strong safety culture aligned with ZERO4LIFE.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Fleet Availability and Reliability: Ensure maximum uptime of truck mixers, pumps, and support vehicles to meet production and delivery demands across all locations within the UAE.
- Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimise breakdowns and extend asset life.
- Workshop and Team Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to develop, train and supervise maintenance teams, ensuring high performance, accountability, and technical competence whilst ensuring the highest of safety standards in line with our zero4life target.
- Health and Safety / Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to zero4life standards, including LOTOTO, permit-to-work systems, and safe workshop practices.
- Cost Control and Budget Management: Monitor and control maintenance costs, including spare parts, labour, and external services, while improving efficiency with the workshop.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Manage third-party service providers and suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
- Breakdown and Incident Management: Ensure rapid response to breakdowns and lead root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence.
- Data and Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs such as fleet availability, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs, using data to drive continuous improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all vehicles meet UAE legal requirements, including registration, inspections, and environmental standards including RTA renewals.
- Operational Coordination: Work closely with operations and plant teams to align maintenance requirements of Cemex fleet with production and delivery schedules.
- Procedures: Ensuring all procedures relating to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 1800 are implemented and used as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education / Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering / Automobile Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment/vehicles/machineries, material handling equipment and fabrication.
Job Specific Competencies /Operational Knowledge:
- Strong technical knowledge of truck mixers, mobile and heavy equipment, including generators, pumps, compressors, and workshop machinery, along with their maintenance requirements.
- Proven experience in the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of vehicles, heavy machinery, and material handling equipment, including fabrication works. (Minimum 5 years’ experience required).
- A strong understanding of earthmoving equipment and related maintenance challenges within a heavy industrial environment.
- A strong knowledge of the ready-mix concrete production process and its operational impact on fleet performance.
- Clear understanding of internal and external customer requirements, ensuring service delivery aligns with operational and company expectations.
- A strong knowledge of UAE RTA rules and regulations related to fleet compliance and road safety.
- Strong awareness and application of health, safety, and environmental regulations in line with company standards.
