Objective:

Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all production machinery and equipment and the bulk loading system.

The Maintenance Supervisor is expected to ensure reliability, efficiency and safety of all mechanical and electrical systems in the offloading, production and bulk loading processes.

 

 

Reponsabilities:

 

Preventative Maintenance

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for production and bulk loading systems and inform the technical team
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify wear and tear and potential failures
  • Clean equipment regularly, schedule calibration process for weigh scales and other systems
  • Monitor machine performance and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Coordinate maintenance of forklifts and generators and follow up with Providers

 

Breakdown Maintenace

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
  • Diagnose faults in mechanical electrical systems
  • Conduct repairs and replace faulty equipment / machinery efficiently

 

Spare Parts Management

  • Maintain inventory of critical spare parts
  • Coordinate with Procurement for timely ordering of parts for scheduled maintenance 

 

Health and Safety

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations
  • Conduct risk assessment and implement safety measures
  • Provide guidance to maintenance team on safe handling of machinery and equipment

 

Other

  • Supervise and guide maintenance technicians
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, repairs, etc.
  • Prepare reports on equipment performance and maintenance KPIs
  • Support plant upgrades, automation and other sustainability initiatives

 

 

Required skills and education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Soft skills: Team Leadership & Motivation, Prioritization, planning and organization, Predictive Maintenance, Safety Compliance, Initiative. 
  • Hard skills: Strong knowledge in mechanical, electrical and Instrumentation systems field, Interpretation of medical and electrical drawings, CMMS proficiency, Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis, Ability to read and interpret P&IDs Mechanical Drawings, Documentation and Reporting, Equipment reliability, Spare parts and critical inventory management analysis.

 

Required experience:

  • Experience in a similar position of at least 3 years
  • Industrial environment of at least 3 years
  • Maintenance duties of at least 3 years
