Job Summary

Work in close collaboration with the business and the business relationship head specific to a region to meet CEMEX business requirements and ensure that services are delivered to the business in a timely and accurate way.

Job Responsibilities

Functional Accountabilities 

  • GES representative for projects involving GES in the USA. 
  • Manage, Coordinate, Participate, and/or Execute GES assigned or related projects.
  • Act as a business consultant specific to a business area to Business Relationship Partner and Regional Staff
  • Create successful relationships with business and being a trusted advisor on all GES aspects of a project, with the related project management and GES process integrations. 
  • Acts as top GES representative in the region for the project and is the key point of contact for all project interactions with the GES. 
  • Ensures project deadlines are met and related services are delivered in a timely manner for the GES.

 

Operational Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver project plans and updates to the Business Relationship Partner for the USA and senior management. 
  • Actively track project timelines, manage escalations, and keep all necessary parties informed of any project risks.
  • Coordinate all project requirements with all teams inside the GES (P2P, O2C, Payroll, R2R, Ops Support, BRM) and teams outside of GES (IT, Planning, Operations, etc.)
  • Maintain awareness of changes to business strategy, goals and processes to ensure requirements appropriately reflect the needs and priorities of the project. 
  • Work to maintain all GES services levels during the execution of each project. 
  • Support post project implementation.
  • Optimize project costs and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferrable
  • 5+ years’ experience within Financial shared services / operations experience in a corporate environment, ideally with significant exposure to the building materials industry
  • 3+ years’ experience in project management and integrations within a shared services model.
  • Understanding of shared services functions, billing, credit, collections, payables, accounting, finance, payroll, business finance support, etc.)
  • Ability to understand shared services processes, as well as related systems knowledge for integration projects. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a combination of the internal teams and outsourced vendor staff
  • Possess high degree of business and organizational understanding
  • Strong awareness and understanding of emerging technologies and solutions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrable experience in advanced stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills including a proven ability to influence at a Senior Management and Executive level
  • Broad strategic experience – excellent strategic thinking and critical analysis skills – able to see our future and how we get there
  • Excellent collaboration and influencing skills – able to challenge effectively, provoke new thinking, and drive progress and change throughout the delivery center
  • Capable of getting things done both through formal channels and the informal network
  • Excellent written & verbal communication

Working Conditions

Ability to travel to project locations, mainly in North America, for extended periods of time. Role is expected to require a significant amount of travel to support projects on a regular basis, with the possibility of long term assignments during an integration phase of the projects. 

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
