Job Summary

To ensure that Cemex US Shared Services provides our customers with superior service by providing accounting and reporting services at world-class levels.  To analyze and review current processes in order to adopt best practices.  To be an integral part of a high performance team.

Job Responsibilities

  • This role may include support of an aggressive closing schedule and on the 1st working day of each month requires an extended work shift.  The target completion is midnight.
  • Monthly Reporting & Reconciliations
  • Set-up, schedule, run, and monitor weekly and monthly settlement jobs
  • Reconcile, report, and write-off as per policy monthly AP aging balances
  • Support budget process for insurance (push down and report detail by cost center)
  • Research and Analysis of accounts as requested by management and calculate and execute true ups a needed
  • Own and Manage various SAP accounting & reporting accounts as identified
  • Guide and review the work of the IBM partner accountants in India
  • Support the semi-annual stewardship review process as part of CEMEX Internal Control framework
  • Analyze and execute the reporting of both quarterly matrix reconciliations and financial footnotes for CEMEX statutory reporting
  • Perform detail accounting analysis & process related Journal Entries related to General Ledger Accounts
  • Work with others in Shared Services to clear reconciling items
  • Identify areas of improvement as appropriate
  • Maintain monthly management reports and clearly communicate results to our customers
  • Execute Special Projects as requested
  • Provide support to other team members and processes during critical times throughout the month


  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, MBA, or CMA a plus
  • 7 years related job experience required (in accounting or financial analysis)
  • Intercompany experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to dive into details while maintaining view of big picture

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Computer Literacy
    • Advanced Spread Sheet (Excel) skills required
    • SAP (ERP) Skills strongly preferred
  • Social/Interpersonal skills
    • Excellent Oral & written communication
    • Listening skills
  • Complete understanding of Legal Entity relations and intercompany accounting
  • Organizational skills
  • Able to develop and administer efficient work processes
  • Ability to recognize issues, present solutions, and implement action plans
  • Analytical approach to problem solving; not intimidated by tackling new problems   
  • Ability to work at an appropriate level of detail
  • Working knowledge of statutory, financial, and management accounting

  • Capable to work extended hours as needed
  • Capable of working in an open concept office environment

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently  
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
