Job Summary

As a leader, direct, supervise and ensure the management of national negotiation of Mobile Equipment (on road, off road, locomotives, others), diesel and short-term rentals of equipment for CEMEX USA supporting all business lines (Cement operations, Ready Mix and Aggregates). Ensuring the optimal implementation of supplier strategies to achieve the best total cost, quality of the product and services at the best delivery time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that different alternative approaches to negotiation agreements are creatively explored to achieve the best total cost for CEMEX. Continuously seeks the best cost benefit in equipment, spare parts, and services necessary for the operations while creating leverage opportunities in the business through negotiations and contract development.
  • Leads the integration of the category teams and ensures the correct empowerment of the team members. Ensures that the category team leader applies and achieves all the responsibilities outlined in the category team profiles
  • Establishes and determines the best Value-Added proposals based on an in-depth analysis of Total Cost Ownership (TCO)
  • Ensures the evaluation of national suppliers through the Strategic Sourcing Methodology and guarantees their compliance with CEMEX standards and established criteria.
  • Manages the local impact of the Company's negotiation and purchasing policies (promotes awareness of the needs of USA).
  • Lead new negotiation practices or new national suppliers according to market trends in the country and/or the world.
  • Guarantees the negotiating team obtains the best purchase terms for equipment, fuels, spare parts, services and critical materials related to the Fleet and Mobile Equipment necessary for the country's operations.
  • Ensures and manages the implementation and correct use of Operational and Corporate negotiations (local, national and global)
  • Ensures that suppliers comply with the conditions and terms agreed upon in negotiations

Qualifications

  • 15 + years of experience in procurement and supply chain area
  • 10 + years of experience in working with operational departments
  • 5 + years of experience  working in / with multifunctional teams
  • 10 + years of experience managing teams
  • Must bachelors in science, Supply Chain, Business
  • Desire masters in business administration, other
  • Knowledge of SAP, excel, word, power point 
  • Deside second language

  • Strong knowledge of working capital concepts, inventory management and control

  • Master negotiation skills
  • Ability to listen and meet customer expectations and concerns
  • Thorough knowledge of Finance and Project Evaluation
  • Clear and effective writing; verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of administrative organization structures and talent management   
  • Can deal effectively with people who have opposing points of view, tolerates conflict.
  • Comprehensive management of policies, procedures and rules   
  • Motivated and problem-solving oriented
  • Mastery of platform management knowledge and tools related to procurement and supply processes 
  • Ability to implement strategies and actions through persuasion and conviction

Working Conditions

  • Capable of working in an office environment and of working extended hours as needed
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
