Job Summary
Play a key role leading the overall logistical cost optimization and financial reporting processes for the US cement organization (i.e., financial forecasting/budgeting for Supply Chain Operations).
Build business cases and supply chain finance decks providing financial modeling and analysis to assess ROI, risks/rewards, costs, margins etc.
Support engagement and interaction with Cemex Mexico Global Trading/Global Shipping to ensure minimum supply and transportation costs, including minimizing demurrage costs
Work with Regional VPs to compare and select best import scenarios/options to enable cement supply to meet efficiently demand as per Sch5.
Lead a team of Analysts extracting, collecting, and analyzing data.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordination of the annual budget process and monthly logistics cost including projections/financial forecasts based on S&OP plan generated monthly; to be presented to VP SC Planning & Analytics and reviewed/approved by EVP SC.
- Preparation of monthly business review focusing on terminal freight, terminal cost, last mile, imports, purchases, demurrage, freight creep cost; developing reporting that identifies any key trends and delving into deviations to plan or significant result outliers. Analyze main cost drivers and provide explanation as needed
- Responsible for calculating landed costs, while optimizing best logistics cost scenarios across all plants and terminals to maximize EBITDA, including maintaining an accurate and up-to-date repository of costs and all related assumptions by source/origin and lane.
- In charge of running comparative analysis to minimize non-optimal import sources.
- Responsible for the consolidation and reporting of all Supply Chain Operational and Financial KPI’s.
- Support the S&OP process by contributing to the design and implementation of supply chain strategies.
- Collaborate with the commercial and Analytics department to evaluate demand trend, plant outages, transfers, purchases, and imports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field of study from an accredited college/university. Emphasis in Supply Chain and Operations Management preferred.
- +15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in leadership.
- Planning and operational experience of bulk, commodity products a plus.
- Experience working in global organization with knowledge of international trade a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Knowledge of MS Office with advanced Excel skills (formulas, v-lookups, pivot tables, charts, etc.).
- Experience with SAP, Power BI or other external data systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Financial Analysis and Planning.
- Thorough understanding of logistical operations, imports, and international transportation in complex supply networks.
- Spanish is highly valuable.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

- Willing to spend time on site at industrial operations as needed
Physical Requirements
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
