Job Summary

The Import Planning Analyst will be responsible for the vessel scheduling accordingly to S&OP plan ensuring product arrives on time while mitigating demurrage risk 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for communications and coordination with the Trading team for planning of cement imports while working closely with the US Regional Logistics operations 
  • Responsible for calculating import demurrages along with window opportunities to mitigate the same   
  • Responsible for the communication of split margin calculation to determine cost Cemex Global cost
  • Support of S&OP process, contributing to the design and implementation of a tool that allows visibility to vessel arrivals and its cost
  • Assists on the preparation of S&OP and  monthly business review  presentations focusing on Imports
  • Responsible for the reporting of Import KPI’s to headquarters, planning and other departments
  • Generate on-demand “What-If” scenarios to analyze costs differences
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business or related field of study from an accredited college/university.  Emphasis in Supply Chain Management preferred.  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong systems aptitude and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Excel 
     

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical/math-based skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Knowledge of MS Office with advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, charts, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, SAP BI/BW, SAP IBP or other external data systems preferred 
  • Knowledge of statistical forecasting and forecasting methodology
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform (Sharepoint, Teams) 
     

Working Conditions

  • Capable to work extended hours as needed
  • Capable of working in an open concept office environment

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.   Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
