Job Summary

Operate a forklift to load and unload totes from chemical fill stations; load and unload flatbed trucks; assist in making batches and quality checks; operates tote fill stations; performs general maintenance tasks. Must be able to work outdoors at times and be able to work in hot/cold conditions as weather changes. More advanced skills and abilities than a Technician Level 1. Production Manager will evaluate skills (See duties and responsibilities below) for advancement to Technician Level 2 position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Successfully perform all duties and responsibilities of the Production Technician Level 1
  • Submit a minimum of one (1) Safety Improvement Card per month
  • Evaluate the visible integrity of totes prior to filling
  • Safely operate a forklift to load and unload totes from chemical fill stations
  • Load and unload flatbed trucks
  • Stage empty totes for later use
  • Participate in making batches and quality checks
  • Interact and coordinate with delivery drivers of raw materials, load and unload trucks, collect bills of lading
  • Assist the Production Manager and/or Lead Technician with collection of raw materials and finished product samples
  • Perform quality control tests on raw material and finished goods samples as needed
  • Operate fill stations and manual addition of dry ingredients
  • Perform advanced maintenance/preventative maintenance on valves, pumps, motors, etc.
  • Troubleshoot processing equipment
  • Operate FLS batching system equipment
  • Daily housekeeping of plant; may include but not be limited to sweeping, mopping, disposal of trash, etc.
  • Wear proper PPE as required
  • Comply with all safety protocols including lockout tagout tryout and 5S throughout the plant
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager, Production Coordinator and/or Lead Technician

Qualifications

  • Lift/push/pull a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Ascend/descend stairs frequently throughout shift
  • High School Diploma preferred; or equivalent
  • 6 months Production Technician Level 1 experience required
  • 1 yr. Production experience required
  • 1 yr. Forklift experience preferred, but not required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Effective communication skills

Working Conditions

  • Perform work outside of the plant
  • Overtime when required per company needs
  • Work with dusty dry ingredients, hazardous raw materials, etc.
  • Use power tools, hand tools, etc. to complete job tasks

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/ or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
