Job Summary

The Manager of Supply Chain Operations Performance and Analytics will be responsible for:

  • Creating financial and operational reports for cementitious materials (cement, slag, and in the future fly ash for Cemex US); including imports, distribution, and terminal operations.
  • Building financial business cases providing financial modeling and analysis to support operational decision-making minimizing demurrage costs. 
  • Developing a centralized balanced scorecard including operational KPI’s to manage suppliers (e.g., OTD, quality), terminals (e.g., utilization, overtime, efficiency, rail, and truck needs), maritime operations (e.g., vessel planning adherence, service levels, lead times, unloading rates, demurrage costs), and deliveries (e.g., OTIF, service levels, birth availability).
  • Tracking and analyzing root causes for non-performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with accounting teams to evaluate trends to generate financial forecasts, associated with transfers from plants to terminals, purchases, imports and terminal costs.
  • Responsible for calculating transfer prices to internal customers.
  • Responsible for the analysis of freight creep cost to ensure correct pricing is being passed to customers.
  • Analyze main cost drivers and provide explanation as needed.
  • Manage projects contributing to the design and implementation of strategies aimed at improving the supply chain (e.g., elaboration of new operational KPI’s/balance scorecard, creation of lane cost matrix, development of IBP forecasts for cementitious materials).
  • Responsible for the logistics financial forecast based on S&OP plan generated monthly.
  • In collaboration with the accounting team, assists on the preparation of month end business review for the EVP of Supply Chain, focusing on the financial analysis of cost associated to Terminal Freight, Last Mile, Imports and Purchases. 
  • Responsible for the reporting of KPI’s leveraging the utilization of the SCOR model or other methodologies.
  • The intention is to add an analyst to report directly to the manager.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields in Business. 
  • +7 years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning, and/or Finance, with at least 2 years in leadership roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully.
  • Knowledge of MS Office with advanced Excel and Power Point skills (formulas, pivot tables, V-Lookups, IF statements, charts, etc.). 
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, SAP BI/BW, SAP IBP, or other external data systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Python, R or SQL is a plus.
  • Knowledge of statistical forecasting and forecasting methodologies.
  • Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.  The job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate with employees/visitors.
