Job Summary

The Cemex US Corporate Communication Team is committed to partnering with internal and external stakeholders to increase the value of the Cemex brand. Our mission is to protect and positively position our brand with our customers, shareholders, investors, communities and employees. We are seeking an Internal Communications Specialist to join our team reporting to our Internal Communications Manager. The Internal Communications Team is responsible for developing content for intranet, video, newsletters and email communications, organizing large meetings, drafting video scripts and overseeing production and working with internal stakeholders like Health & Safety, Human Resources and others to develop, implement and execute on communication plans that support stakeholder objectives; all in compliance with brand guidelines and governance policies. The person will also take part in the planning and execution of internal projects and employee engagement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop AP Style content for internal communications channels including emails, the company's intranet, presentations, videos, and more to further business objectives.
  • Identify and develop stories from within US operations that align with our strategic communication priorities.
  • Assist in the management of editorial content for employee publications. 
  • Maintain and own US Communications SharePoint Hub and other various communications platforms. 
  • Draft and edit company-wide communications.
  • Guide the production of employee publications according to organizational branding guidelines.
  • Track metrics for various recurring communications, generate reports and identify areas of improvement.
  • Partner closely with vendors on the development and execution of materials for internal communications as needed. 
  • Must be able to travel as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Communications, Journalism or related area of study
  • 3-5 years’ experience in internal communications (corporate experience preferred)
  • Possess strong communication, planning, organization and execution
  • Have a track record as a team player and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Must have well developed research, writing and editing skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities with tight deadlines
  • Willingness to visit/work onsite in a manufacturing environment as required
  • Comfortable with in-office work environment
  • Personable and dependable
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative environment and build relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Ability to work confidently with cross-functional stakeholders and business leaders
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Adobe Creative Suite or other design software skills a plus
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the overall business strategy
  • Strong AP Style writing and content creation skills
  • Experience developing and implementing internal communications plans and campaigns
  • Must have excellent communication skills
