Job Summary

The Senior Claims Analyst reports to the Claims Manager and is directly responsible for the management of Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability and General Liability claims assigned per region and line of business. 
The successful candidate has experience in the insurance and risk management field with a firm understanding of the property and casualty insurance market with extensive experience managing workers’ compensation, auto liability and general liability insurance claims.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the TPA Adjuster.
  • Evaluate claim reserves and settlement requests, providing support information and recommendations for authorization decisions, when appropriate, and including the use of structured settlements and mediation.
  • Monitor and review open claims on a consistent basis.
  • Coordinate return to work with the business unit.
  • Report and analyze claim trends.
  • Coordinate all parties involved in a catastrophic event.
  • Conduct claim reviews and claim audits.
  • Liaison with Corporate Legal Counsel on complex litigated claims.
  • Ensure adequate reserves for the claim exposure.
  • Pursue timely and reasonable claim settlements. 
  • Work with Legal, Safety and Business Units to provide timely useful reports on open claims, obtain input on resolution, use vendors cost effectively to assist, benchmark processes, and continuously improve communications regarding open claims and resolutions.
  • Regularly identify potential opportunities for cost savings and implement efficiencies.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, economics, accounting, or related field (preferred but not required)
  • Ideally 5+ years of risk management and claims related work experience, preferably in-house risk management, insurance broker, insurance company or TPA experience

  • Strong analytical, qualitative, and quantitative skills
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Problem-solving and research-orientated skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking
  • Ability to maintain and handle confidential information
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required
  • Must be able to travel and work well in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Database Programs, Risk Console, GB RisxFacs and TPA systems)
  • Understanding of statistics and accounting
  • Some form of certification desired: ARM, CRM, CPCU and/or insurance solicitor’s license (preferred but not required)
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background screen

  • Capable of working in an open concept office environment

Physical Requirements

  • Job involves sitting most of the time with walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors
