Job Summary

Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, troubleshoot, and maintain all plant mobile equipment.

Job Responsibilities

1. Performs all tasks in a safe and professional manner in conformance with plant rules, quality standards and company policies.

2. Perform all pre and post use inspections when operating equipment.

3. Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, troubleshoot, and maintain all plant mobile equipment.

4. Operate mobile equipment as needed to perform maintenance.

5. Follow preventative and predictive maintenance procedure and schedule as well as perform inspections and maintenance as needed.

6. Determine best way to make repairs to minimize the interruption of equipment.

7. Responds to reasonable callouts as needed.

8. Participates in plant overhaul outages assisting repairman.

9. Attends and participates in department and team meetings.

10. Trains other employees as needed.

11. Purchase and pickup miscellaneous spare parts as directed.

12. Observe Procurement department guidelines to secure repair parts, supplies and materials.

13. Keep work area clean and orderly.

Qualifications

• 3 years of mobile mechanic experience if hired from the outside.
• Mechanical aptitude.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to communicate in English effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to physically perform all essential job functions for the position.
• Ability to work all hours and shifts including overtime, weekends and holidays.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

Mechanics tools including hammer, sledge, bars, drills, wrenches, saws, welder, reamers, taps, rule, pipe cutters, lubrication equipment, oil cans, grinder, painting supplies, compass, calipers, vise, punches, shovel, broom, scales, burning equipment, hydraulic jacks, chain falls, come-alongs, pipe threader, hoist, crane, forklift, man lift, pickup truck, etc.

Working Conditions

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
• Must wear protective equipment while at the location

Physical Requirements

• Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
