Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate the activities of varied personnel involved in daily operations, as directed by the Operations Manager. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures plant operations, quality control, and production by designated crews meet or exceed the requirements outlined by the Operations Manager
  • Determines when process parameters need to be altered to increase reliability, throughput, or reduce/increase labor
  • Trains and motivates employees to work safely and productively
  • Assigns work schedules and authorizes overtime and time off as permitted by the needs of the department and in accordance with company policies
  • Ensures that Production Department tools and equipment are in good working condition and that adequate stocks of consumables are maintained
  • Ensures completion of required documentation such as shift logs, check off lists, equipment inspection forms, and safety meetings
  • Ensures operation and safety inspection work orders are provided to Maintenance Department
  • Promote equipment reliability
  • Ensures proper material handling consistent with quality objectives and troubleshoots process systems to determine why quality targets are not met
  • Conducts/attends weekly safety meetings
  • Must comply with company safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • 3-5 years experience in operations or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work scheduled hours

  • Exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures.
