Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional for a position in the Business Evolution Services Team, specifically for the Operations Development Area. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and implementing projects targeting process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce costs in our cement operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for process improvements across all areas of cement operations.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives, including IT solutions, to optimize production, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Work closely with global and regional cross-functional teams, including Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering, to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, metrics, and reports to track progress and measure success.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices to ensure that our cement operations remain competitive and efficient.
Position Challenges
Balancing short-term and long-term goals: The successful candidate will need to identify and implement process improvements that deliver both immediate results and long-term benefits. This may require balancing competing priorities and managing stakeholders with different perspectives.
Overcoming resistance to change: Implementing process improvements and new technologies can be challenging, especially in an industry that may be resistant to change. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage change and overcome resistance.
Managing complex projects: Implementing IT projects and emerging technologies can be complex and involve multiple stakeholders. The successful candidate will need to have strong project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure that they are completed on time and within budget.
Staying up-to-date with technology: The cement industry is constantly evolving, and new technologies are emerging all the time. The successful candidate will need to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies to ensure that our cement operations remain competitive and efficient.
Addressing data quality issues: Analyzing data is critical to identifying process improvements and optimizing production. However, data quality issues can pose a significant challenge. The successful candidate will need to have strong data analysis skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to address data quality issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor in engineering, industrial systems, computer science or related field.
- 0 - 3 years of experience in agile project management, developing business cases involving new technologies, working with cement operations process, developing process maps and RPA.
- Spanish and English al least B2 or higher.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience working with data analysis tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or Python.
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and functions.
- Knowledge of cement operations and manufacturing processes is a plus.
