Job Description

Plan, define and search for Cement technologies emerging in the market and identify potential technological risk and support the Cement Technology Agenda definition.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Cement Innovation activities with internal and external technology experts.
  • Develop and coordinate a Cement Technology Network to assure transference of best practices and technologies.
  • Outline Cement Technology Agenda and support the Smart Innovation process.
  • Identify new chemistry related processes and technologies from the very initial phase, when the most advantage can be taken, but also when information is scarce and deploy them when maturity is high.
  • Find the right and newer Cement technologies for each operation according to their geographical context.
  • Support Cement Operations in regular and innovation activities.
  • Define selection of technology for CAPEX projects to ensure proper selection of  equipment and vendors.

Position Challenges

  • Articulate a Cement Innovation Network to find emerging technologies that will be used by CEMEX in the short or medium term.
  • Achieve peers recognition in the field to be able to assess and discriminate technologies.
  • Multiple standards and construction culture in the world may condition the deployment of some valuable initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or master in science, chemical engineering, material or petroleum engineering
  • Knowledge of PC programs: Word, Excel, Access
  • English proficiency
  • 1-2 years experience in Chemical engineering or cement operations.
