Job Description

Manages and coordinates the global categories strategy throughout CEMEX countries, based on the Strategic Sourcing Methodology, market trends, procurement policies, Code of Ethics and external regulations, aiming to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for our operations, reaching economies of scale and thus, contributing positively to value creation.

Main Responsibilities

Develops and continually reviews robust, forward looking global category strategies based on business needs considering regional and national differences to achieve greatest cost reductions for CEMEX, continuously seeking the best cost benefit for the BU or operation areas while creating leveraging business opportunities through negotiation and contract development.

Develops and analyses business services categories (flexible workforce, international freight forwarding, operations & supply chain, outsourcing, etc) overall comprehensive sourcing strategy globally: market intelligence, negotiation and contract development, supplier management and contributes to the best practice sharing among all business sectors pursuing the integration of the category supply chain to the end users resulting in substantial cost improvements and added value.

Analyses, prepares, and manages relevant category information necessary to recommend global, regional and local supply chain solutions contributing to the business improvement and continuity.

Collaborate with stakeholders across HR, Health & Safety, Risk, Strategic Planning and Ops Teams to ensure compliance Operation Resilience: CEMEX’s 2023 Strategy and continuous improvement of Procurement processes.

Regularly reviews and improves contractual terms and conditions from a governance and policy perspective including any change in regulatory requirements.

Analyses and proposes best added value proposal(s) based on in-depth category TCO analysis, shifting business opportunities. 

Reviews and supports market trends analysis, conditions, changing technologies, new and alternative business models in the market; designs and promotes pilots, provides category economics and purchasing guidance to the countries.

Manages and supports the elaboration of sourcing playbook, technical documents, business case documents, TCO models, should / due cost and price discipline models.

Defines & delivers scorecard metrics by working closely with the Reporting & Analytics team.

Analyses, supports and coordinates strategic supplier relationships in order to be in continuous improvement of our products and services and reducing costs.

Coordinates highly effective multicultural team that provides subject matter guidance to the rest of category end users.

Position Challenges

1.    Changes end user mindset to move forward to exploring new technologies/opportunities

2.   Examines and proposes new market trends and developments within the categories involved, to be applied in our operations and building solutions portfolio.

3.   Develops and strengths alliances with Human Resources, Health & Safety and Legal teams

4.   Converge to a single category global sourcing strategy given the diversity on the local inputs.

5.   Communicates, deploys, and effectively implements category sourcing strategy given the rotation on the local category members 

6.   Develops and strengths alliances with Country Presidents, VP´s and/or Operations managers to facilitate proper Global Category management.

7.   Coordinates with countries to ensure an effective negotiation and implementation timing, obtaining the highest added value 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in administration, engineering, finance or economics. Master’s degree preferred.

PC programs Word, Excel, Power Point and ERP SAP/Oracle.

Fluent in English and Spanish
