Job Summary

Under the direction of VP Planning, the Director of Aggregates Development is charged with managing the replenishment and growth of the aggregate reserves in the Region.  This includes operating business acquisition opportunities.  The Director of Aggregates Development will work with both the Aggregates Environmental group and Mine Planning as leader of the resource development diligence team. 

Job Responsibilities

  •  Resource Development – Manage the process of new reserve prospecting, due diligence, financial modeling, transaction negotiation and mine permitting.  
  • Business Acquisition – Lead acquisition team, responsible for business due diligence, financial modeling, purchase agreement negotiation and post-acquisition integration. 
  • Market Strategy & Analysis - Identify and analyze market positions of both competitors and customers.  Utilize such analysis to derive opportunities within the Florida Region to expand and/or replenish reserves.  Assist in development of aggregates business strategic plan.
  • Network Development – Develop and maintain strong relationships with property owners and other key industry figures in order facilitate aggregates reserve development.
  • Reserve Financing – Responsible for facilitating project financing, including internally generated financing, seller financing, or third-party financing.
  • Additional Activities - Work with VP/GM Aggregates and Regional President on specific projects: M&A activities, and operational improvements.
     

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree; MBA preferred
  • Knowledge in mining, geology and processing of aggregates

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills, well organized, and market/business savvy
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with a manufacturing company in a strategic planning role. 
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Real estate, M&A or contract negotiation experience

Working Conditions

•    The position will require 20-40% travel and will require some after hour’s participation in industry related functions.
•    Long periods of standing and/or walking required
•    Some exposure to dust, noise and extreme temperatures
 

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
