Job Summary

The Manager Aggregate Sourcing manages the Sales & Operations (S&OP) process, negotiates haul rates, negotiates third-party Aggregate purchases, and tracks the movement of aggregate between AGG operations and CEMEX ready-mix plants. This role will engage in continuously optimizing our sourcing network to maximize EBITDA. This individual must efficiently manage inventory stocks, track material movements, and coordinate with dispatch, sales, and operations.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Support our Safety policies through training, VFLs, and measurements to ensure safety of our employees and contractors.
  • Manage day to day relationship with Polaris Materials for the import of Aggregates in the Bay Area.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local haulers, dispatchers and key individuals within the Ready-Mix Division
  • Coordinate internal Ready-Mix sourcing between Aggregates and Ready-Mix Quality Control & Operations
  • In conjunction with local management, assist with coordination of movements and tracking of all third-party Aggregate hauling
  • Develop optimal sourcing models and provide recommendations. Leads efforts to implement best practices
  • Define and forecasts needed skills, tools, and equipment to meet project objectives to include analytical support for sourcing objectives.
  • Manage supply and inventory management of admixtures and fibers across RMX plants
  • Coordinate closely with Aggregate Sourcing Coordinators 
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or a business-related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience sales or transportation and logistics
  • Experience in lean and other continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of SAP applications.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills.
  • Effective leadership and team building skills; trustworthy and trusting of others.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize daily duties 
  • Demonstrated strong self-starting traits, and ability to operate effectively with little or no direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to make sound decisions when managing work activities.
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust to changing priorities Capability to work extended hours as necessary

Working Conditions

  • Occasional plant and job site visits in varied weather conditions
  • Capability to work extended hours as necessary
  • Overnight travel required

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to some degree
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Requires full days and availability at any time to handle situations typical within the business
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment

The expected base compensation for this position ranges from $94600.00 to $117800.00 depending on, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skill sets, experience, and education
