Job Summary
The department of Commercial Development supports commercial management of the aggregates division at CEMEX by proposing strategies aimed to optimize revenue and profit, monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, trends, and customer portfolio optimization. It is also responsible for driving process-oriented frameworks for multiple business cases, along with the creation of commercial presentations for executive management, supporting overall pricing strategy, sales management processes and various ad-hoc projects. The Commercial Analyst reports the aggregate market share, customer centricity initiatives, among other responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the sales, pricing, and strategic planning functions across the US.
- Leverage data-driven insights to optimize commercial strategies, enhance profitability, and drive growth across diverse markets.
- Analyze sales trends, market data, and customer behavior to identify opportunities for revenue growth and margin improvement.
- Develop and maintain pricing models, dashboards, and reports to support commercial teams in decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to evaluate competitive landscapes and market dynamics across various states.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to senior leadership on sales performance and market share.
- Source, research, and collect competitive and market intelligence including competitors and sales volume information, products, and services
- ·Analyze internal and external data to provide detailed analysis of key market
- Gather, collate, and refresh customer and market data on a regular basis
- Manage research and strategic projects under supervision of a manager
- Prepare tactical competitive analyses to distill short term and market opportunities
- Identify and actively monitor key market indicators
- Support Manager and Director in the preparation of monthly meetings
- Communicate with the Regional Sales Managers on a regular basis to provide and gather intelligence information and strategic recommendations
- Support Regional Sales Managers on any analysis they need to increase sales and/or business insights
- Assist with monthly presentations with monthly commercial results, detailed explanations behind price and volume variations and overview of major strategic topics
- Support regional sales VPs in commercial analysis/presentations in various topics such as monthly results, ad-hoc strategic projects and customers’ profitability analysis
- Produce analysis related to pricing, target market share, and other related commercial initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related degree
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent analytical, math/statistical, and data management skills and the ability to interpret complex business documents for reports
- Knowledge of financial terms and principles
- Computer Literacy: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills required
- Database knowledge is a plus
- Proficiency in SAP, PowerBI and Excel
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Analytical and creative approach to problem solving; not intimidated tackling ambiguity
- Ability to recognize issues, present solutions, and implement action plans
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
- Resourcefulness to handle multiple requests in a timely manner from different business units
- Ability to work at an appropriate level of detail

Working Conditions
- Capable to work extended hours as needed. May include support of an aggressive schedule before monthly presentations to executives, among other specific ad-hoc requests
- Capable of working in an open concept office environment
Physical Requirements
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
- Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
