Job Summary
The Business Performance Sr Manager Aggregates is responsible for supporting the overall strategy and business performance agenda for the U.S. Aggregates business by translating regional priorities, financial analyses, and market opportunities into a unified mid- and long-term direction. The role leads capital allocation and portfolio strategy efforts, including capital prioritization, capital request governance, reserves acquisition, conversion of existing reserves into mineable reserves, investments, divestments, and portfolio rebalancing, ensuring decisions are aligned with enterprise strategy, company policies, and long-term value creation. The role supports the business performance framework, including the development of budget targets, key performance indicators, and site-level metrics such as ROIC, EBITDA, and cost per ton, to ensure alignment, accountability, and disciplined execution across regions and functions. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to identify risks and opportunities, develop data-driven recommendations, and oversee strategic and operational initiatives that improve profitability, optimize the asset base, and deliver sustainable business performance.
Job Responsibilities
Capital Allocation & Portfolio Strategy
- Support the prioritization of capital requirements across the operation.
- Lead the capital request process and coordinate with cross-functional teams to support compliance with company policies.
- Develop and recommend capital allocation strategies that support long-term growth and return objectives.
- Coordinate activities related to reserves acquisition and the conversion of existing reserves into mineable reserves.
- Evaluate and support investment, divestment, and portfolio rebalancing decisions to optimize the asset base.
- Ensure portfolio and investment decisions are aligned with market opportunities, enterprise strategy, and company policies.
Strategy & Business Performance
- Support the overall strategy for the U.S. Aggregates business through financial analyses and modeling, consolidation of regional priorities, and prioritization of key initiatives.
- Develop mid- and long-term strategic recommendations to support executive decision-making and drive sustainable value creation.
- Establish and maintain business performance indicators and targets, including budget, KPIs, and site-level metrics such as ROIC, EBITDA, and cost per ton, to support alignment and accountability.
- Analyze performance across operations and identify risks and opportunities to improve financial outcomes.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable initiatives and support consistent execution across regions and functions.
Execution Leadership & Value Delivery
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to define and execute strategic actions that improve business performance.
- Oversee the development and execution of key operational projects across the Aggregates business.
- Monitor delivery of initiatives against defined targets, timelines, and financial outcomes.
- Establish governance, accountability, and performance tracking mechanisms to support disciplined execution and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field required
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
Experience
- 8+ years of progressive experience in business development, strategic planning, project management, or related roles
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or similar capital-intensive industries preferred
- Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen
- Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
- Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and influencing capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication and executive presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI; SAP experience preferred; Python desirable
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency and discipline
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in office and industrial plant environments (PPE required when applicable)
- Ability to work extended hours as needed
- Travel required (up to ~15%)
- Ability to perform standard office-based physical requirements
Physical Requirements
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
