Job Summary

The terminal manager ensures daily operation of rail/loadout terminal including supervision of hourly employees.  Responsible for budgeting; permitting; working as member of plant management team to achieve operational goals and objectives; managing contracts and contractors; and community relations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Track cost and maintain costs at the terminal
  • Develop and maintain a safe and environmentally compliant operation with the assistance of the Safety and Environmental Representatives.
  • Develop and maintain operational methods to reduce costs and produce a consistent product for customers of the terminal.
  • Develop and maintain a good working QC lab.
  • Minimize overtime used, schedule vacations, etc.
  • Maintain the mobile equipment with assistance of mobile equipment maintenance personnel through coordination and scheduling.
  • Maintain unloading and conveying equipment. This includes pumps, chutes, silos, conveyor belts, etc.
  • Maintain purchasing of regular materials for the operation and work with Procurement to purchase routine materials.
  • Maintains operational compliance with zoning and related permits
  • Develop annual budget for the operation.
  • Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
  • Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other Company policies, procedures and requirements
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
     

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years of management supervision experience required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
     

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience required
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment with frequent physical labor expectations
  • Self-motivated team player with a focus on goal accomplishments
     

Working Conditions

  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the location 
  • Capable to work extended hours as needed
  • Ability to participate in required overnight travel as needed
  • No smoking or tobacco use of any kind on premises
  • No cell phone use while working 
     

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to significant degree to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect or position.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment  
  • Must pass physical to include drug/alcohol screen
  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
  • Must wear protective equipment while on the job

The expected base compensation for this position ranges from $94600.00 to $117800.00 depending on, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skill sets, experience, and education
