Job Description

This position supports global financial reporting under IFRS and collaborates with cross-functional teams across the Company to ensure accurate and compliant reporting, while contributing to technical accounting analyses and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation and review of the Company’s consolidated quarterly and annual financial statements under IFRS, ensuring compliance with internal policies, controls and external reporting requirements.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of SEC filings, including Form 20-F, Form 6-K, and other regulatory submissions, as well as financial information included in Offering Memorandums for public and private debt issuances.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial information and disclosures used in Offering Memorandums and other documentation related to public and private debt issuances.
  • Collaborate in the analysis and validation of accounting estimates and technical accounting matters, including support, implementation and monitoring of new IFRS standards. long-lived asset impairment testing, derivative financial instruments accounting, deferred taxes, pension and post-employment benefit obligations and M&A transactions. 
  • Coordinate with accounting, planning and finance teams, external auditors, and other corporate functions to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Contribute to tool improvements and automation initiatives within the global reporting process.

Position Challenges

  • Managing tight timelines and high standards of accuracy associated with quarterly and annual financial reporting cycles, including SEC filings such as Form 20-F and Form 6-K.
  • Addressing complex technical accounting and disclosure matters under IFRS, requiring sound judgment and close coordination with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Coordinating and influencing cross-functional teams across multiple geographies to ensure timely, consistent, and compliant financial information for external reporting and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • English (advanced proficiency required); Spanish (native or fluent)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (mandatory).
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (desirable)

 

Areas of expertise:

    • 0–3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or audit, preferably within multinational companies or accounting firms.
    • Basic knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation is desirable.
    • Exposure to financial reporting processes, technical accounting topics, or external audit is a plus.

 

Technical Skills required by role.

    • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, Power BI, and internal financial data analysis tools (LUCA).
    • Experience with financial reporting or consolidation systems (e.g., HFM, and SAP) is desirable.

 

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines. Effective communication and storytelling skills to clearly explain financial information to different stakeholders, along with a collaborative mindset and a strong willingness to continuously learn and develop technical expertise.

Internal/External Relations

INTERNAL

  • Financial Information GES teams across all regions, Planning, Finance & Back Office, Legal, Internal Audit and Operations.

EXTERNAL

  • Primarily with our external auditor KPMG, while maintaining professional interaction with other Big Four firms such as PwC, Deloitte, and EY.
  • For private and public offerings, we work with Skadden, Arps, DFIN, and Villarreal and Co.We maintain communication with regulatory authorities such as the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV), and the BMV Issuers Committee
