Job Description
Lead the Procurement Center of Excellence at Cemex and its future development.
Manage processes related to Data Management, Digital Procurement, Data Analytics, Governance and Policies, Coding of Goods and Services, Supplier Relationship Programs, Communications, and Change Management.
Structure and execute the digital transformation plan for the procurement area globally, redefining strategies and processes driving to an efficient digital business ecosystem.
Develop and manage a global master catalog of materials and services, improving spend visibility and inventory management through current available digital tool and solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Data Management: Transform ERP data and not structures data insights in Business Language information by a Data Lake strategy. Manage a Central and intelligent data hub that integrates global data with an enriched content quality offering a comprehensive customer experience for the leverage of business opportunities.
- Harmonize information for benchmarks and KPIs generation.
- Provide descriptive and predictive smart analytics to support high value opportunities.
- Provide standard and self-service visualizations and data models.
- Digital Procurement: Redefinition of procurement strategy, processes, people, skill sets and support systems, triggered by new digital technologies to build an efficient digital business ecosystem for enabling new supply opportunities.
- Enable an integrated Digital Ecosystem for an agile, transparent and traceable Procurement process
- Facilitate tools that increase automated processes
- Adopt innovative technologies to have worldwide supplier alternatives
- Codification Process: A structured Global Materials and Services Master Catalogue powered with Artificial Intelligence and a user-friendly digital tool to enable smart coded purchases enabling the spend visibility and inventory management.
- Data Analytics: Responsible of the global spend methodology governance (data strategy, spend organization, type of analytics and visualizations) to enhance the visibility of spend analysis, foster the strategic sourcing methodology and support the global, regional & local negotiations.
- Governance and Policies: Conduct the fulfillment of norms and regulations of CEMEX Procurement Model, based on the policies and procedures throughout continuous guidance and advisory to end users
- Evolution of norms, ensuring agility and processes transparency
- Foster knowledge transfer by the application of efficient standardized procedures
- Suppliers Relationship: Offer best-in-class supplier administrative and transactional experience when working with us
- Communication: Promote Procurement initiatives and achievements through fluent communication.
Position Challenges
- Data Integration and Management: Harmonizing ERP and unstructured data into a cohesive Data Lake strategy can be complex and requires robust data governance and management practices.
- Digital Transformation: Structuring and executing a global digital transformation plan involves significant change management, aligning various stakeholders, and ensuring the adoption of new technologies and processes.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensuring compliance with global regulations and evolving standards while maintaining agility and transparency can be challenging, especially in a dynamic regulatory environment.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers globally, while managing a master catalog of materials and services, requires effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Data Analytics and Insights: Providing accurate and actionable descriptive and predictive analyses involves advanced data analytics capabilities and the ability to translate data into business insights.
- Cost Management: Managing procurement costs effectively while improving spend visibility and inventory management is crucial to maintaining financial efficiency.
- Technological Adoption: Implementing and integrating new digital procurement technologies and ensuring they are effectively utilized across the organization can be a significant hurdle.
- Change Management: Leading change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new processes and systems across the organization.
- These challenges require a strategic approach, strong leadership, and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics.
Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Administration, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration or Digital Transformation or a related field.
- Experience:
- Extensive experience in procurement, data management, digital procurement, and data analytics. (> 10 years).
- Proven track record in managing procurement processes and leading digital transformation initiatives. (>3 years).
- Experience with governance and policy development, supplier relationship management, and change management. (>3 years).
- Skills:
- Strong project management skills to lead and execute complex projects.
- Proficiency in using problem-solving techniques and business analysis tools.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Knowledge of SAP and other procurement-related software, such as COUPA.
- Familiarity with AI and digital tools for procurement and data management.
- Leadership and Management:
- Strong leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
- Language Skills:
- Fluent in English and Spanish
