Job Description

The Public Affairs Manager (Stakeholders) defines stakeholder group needs and develops relevant engagement initiatives to lead external reporting and content/collateral for the company’s Public Affairs activities. Develops engagement strategies and plans for targeted campaigns and events and manages effective implementation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Proactively identifies and pursues opportunities to amplify the company’s public advocacy across communications and marketing channels (external and internal), including opportunities to leverage third-party validators.
  • Identifies and leverages key internal and external stakeholders (including community partners, policymakers, etc.) to drive key messages through thought leadership opportunities.
  • Coordinates with the Global Communications department to support the development and drive execution of messaging strategies and materials (e.g., media relations, social media, etc.) to support advocacy efforts and enhance the company’s reputation.
  • Works in close collaboration with Region Public Affairs teams to shape the company’s advocacy messages and tell the company’s story to increase the impact of the company’s work.
  • Assists in providing communications counsel to executives.
  • Provides strategic guidance to business groups and the Global Communications team on key advocacy and policy issues.
  • Manages external vendor(s) as integral members of the department’s extended team.
  • Helps oversee the development and publication of the company’s annual Integrated Report and other corporate content within the responsibility of Public Affairs.
  • Works in collaboration with other Public Affairs Manager(s) to continually refine and execute company’s global advocacy strategy.
  • Participates in conferences, trade shows, client and/or industry meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (speaking and writing proficiencies)
  • Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, international affairs, government affairs, journalism, marketing, communications, public relations or public policy; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years in corporate communications, corporate affairs, public affairs, government affairs, or related functional role, with corporate experience preferred.
  • Experience working across a matrix organization in a global environment is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Exceptional writing/proofreading skills with ability to adapt tone for various audiences/formats (speeches, memos, general inquiries, legislative briefings, etc.).
  • Knowledge of managing complex corporate reporting and publishing projects.
  • Extensive program planning, management, and evaluation skills to ensure stakeholder initiatives are aligned with the company's strategic goals.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative, diplomacy, and the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders and members of the public.
  • Ability to build a strong network of subject matter experts across the company.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

  • Global Communications, Investor Relations, Future in Action leaders, Region Public Affairs teams, Legal, Corporate Affairs, Strategy & Planning, Supply Chain, and Commercial Development, among others.

  • Vendors, consultants, community partners, and customers, among others.
