Internship Description:

The intern will support the M&A team in the screening, analysis, and structuring of potential acquisition opportunities across different geographies. Responsibilities include market mapping, financial benchmarking, preliminary valuation exercises, and coordination with internal teams to build investment rationales.

Project Objective:

The project aims to provide the intern with a comprehensive understanding of the M&A process, from opportunity identification to preliminary deal structuring. By the end of the internship, the student should be able to prepare a target profile, conduct basic financial analysis, and propose an acquisition rationale consistent with Cemex´s strategic priorities.

Challenges for the student:

The intern will face the challenge of understanding diverse business models in a short time, interpreting financial data to identify value creation drivers, and coordinating across multiple departments in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Main responsabilities and activities:

  • Conduct target screening and industry mapping excerices.
  • Prepare company profiles and summarize key financial indicators.
  • Support valuation models and deal structure analysis. 
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with cross-functional teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for senior management.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
