Detailed Description of the Project
The intern will support the Global Energy team by maintaining and improving databases for Scope 2 KPIs, conducting market intelligence research, and performing benchmarking across regions. The project includes cleaning and structuring data, identifying trends in energy markets, and developing visual datasets using Power BI and advanced Excel tools (e.g. Power Query). The intern will help strengthen reporting accuracy and provide analytical insights that contribute to strategic energy decision-making.
Project Objective
To support the Global Energy team by strengthening data management, visualization, and market intelligence capabilities. The intern will help maintain and enhance power-related KPIs, conduct research on energy markets and technologies, and develop reports and dashboards that contribute to strategic decision-making across Cemex’s global operations.

Main Responsibilities and Activities to Be Carried Out
- Maintain, clean, and update databases for power and energy KPIs.
- Conduct market intelligence research, including benchmarks of renewable energy technologies, electricity prices, regulatory changes, and regional trends.
- Support the preparation of dashboards and visual summaries using Power BI and advanced Excel tools (Power Query, pivot tables, formulas, automation).
- Assist in preparing monthly energy reports and analyses for internal stakeholders.
- Identify inconsistencies in data and support resolution efforts.
- Contribute to ad hoc analyses requested by the Global Energy team.
- Organize and structure datasets to improve long-term data availability and traceability.
Specific Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in progress in Energy Engineering, Sustainability, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and interest in energy markets and sustainability.
- Experience using Excel at an intermediate to advanced level (Power Query, pivot tables, data cleaning, dynamic formulas).
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Power BI (visualizations, data modeling is a plus).
- Ability to research and summarize technical and market information clearly.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly (internal platforms, market tools).
- Detail-oriented and reliable with data validation and quality control.
- Teamwork and ability to collaborate with global and multicultural teams.
- English proficiency (intermediate or advanced).
- Availability for part-time or full-time internship.
