Job Summary

Plans, coordinates, and directs regional ready mix quality control program designed to ensure continuous quality production of concrete and related concrete products consistent with established industry standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate Managers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Must comply with company safety rules and regulations.
  • Oversite of concrete mix design performance spec. and submittal review and stamping or certification of concrete mix designs.
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to comply with industry standards, and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product
  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives 
  • Coordinates quality objectives in cooperation with production managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs 
  • Leads and directs managers who direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials and products
  • Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product, quality, and reliability
  • Oversight of investigations and customer complaints regarding quality and management of customer relations
  • Involvement in related industry and trade associations
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the ready mix/concrete industry.
  • Professional Engineer or NRMCA Certification equivalent to certify mix designs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
  •  Knowledge of ACI, ASTM, DOT and other ready mix and aggregate industry standards.

Working Conditions

  • Capable to work extended hours as needed
  • Potentially hot, cold, dusty, etc

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
