Job Summary

Act as a strategic partner to Terminal Manager on all recruiting related activities for external drivers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with operations team to establish common understanding of contractor management processes and service level standards
  • Consult with operations team to identify the scope of the external hauler pool
  • Identify qualified haulers, conduct screening interviews, and coordinate on-site interviews with Terminal Manager.
  • Provides on-going follow up with operations team to provide updates and gather feedback on external haulers submissions and interviews
  • Ability to meet the demands of the business within appropriate time to fill metrics
  • Process background checks as required, prepare contracts, and collect all required paperwork
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations at all times 
  • Wear proper safety equipment while on terminal grounds
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and an interest in Human Resources preferred
  • Minimum 2 years professional work experience
     

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Behavioral Based Interviewing Techniques
  • Ability to effectively navigate multiple job board sites
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task and possess strong organization skills
  • Ability to work with standard office/computer equipment
     

Working Conditions

  • Capability to work extended hours as necessary
  • Capable of working in an open office environment
  • Ability to participate in overnight travel as necessary
     

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. 
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
