Job Summary
In coordination with Plant Manager at Cemex’s Victorville Cement Plant and Cemex USA Social Impact teams, develop and support stakeholder engagement plan to build and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders - internal and external - that strengthen the Company’s corporate social impact (SI) strategy and local projects. Coordinate activities, events or programs designed to create shared value by promoting or enhancing the well-being and quality of life of local communities, while enhancing the Company’s reputation and supporting business continuity.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate, implement and strengthen community engagement activities in local area around Cemex facilities in alignment with the company's Global Social Impact strategy and model or relevant project guidance and operational priorities.
- Develop collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to build awareness and support advocacy related to the company and cement industry.
- Proactive outreach, cultivation and nurturing of long-term key community stakeholder relationships.
- Work with Corporate and Regional Social Impact teams to share and scale best practices across Cemex facilities and maintain awareness of evolving expectations for SI among key stakeholders (internal and external).
- Assist with development and oversight of community engagement plans, budgets and reporting.
- Identify and communicate community concerns and opportunities for local facility; collaborate with Manager and relevant personnel to propose solutions, and participate in implementation of solutions.
- Engage and coordinate with other departments to secure cross-functional collaboration on SI strategy.
- Identify and support local volunteering activities.
- Responsible for maintaining data management system and periodic internal reporting.
- Prepare materials supporting Cemex Corporate Communications regarding SI activities.
- Requires discretion and ability to use judgment in handling interactions and sensitive information.
- Must be willing and able to attend or work events during evening hours and weekends, as needed.
- Must comply with company safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related-field required (e.g., Education, Public Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility / Social Impact, Environmental Science, Communications, Sociology, Political Science).
- Min. 3 years of experience in creating and implementing social projects and programs preferred.
- Team player with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in cooperation with various stakeholders (NGOs, schools, public administration units, regulatory authorities, local community) and public speaking
- Experience interacting with governmental agencies a plus
- Knowledge of local realities or willingness to learn them
- The ability to search for allies among key stakeholders / social environment
- Highly organized with a high level of initiative and drive
- Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information.
- Focus on the implementation of tasks and achievement of the goals set
- Ability to travel overnight as needed.
- Passion for helping and working with people
- Multi-tasked oriented
- Work Independently
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good knowledge of the use of MS Office programs (extensive experience with Excel and PowerPoint preferred)
- Comfortable with information management systems and databases
- Experienced driver with valid driver’s license
Working Conditions
- Capable of working in an office environment.
- Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Physical Requirements
- Able to work with standard office/computer equipment
- Able to work in an open concept office environment

The expected base compensation for this position ranges from $74000.00 to $93000.00 depending on, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skill sets, experience, and education
