Job Summary

Primary responsibility of this position is to support Cemex US General Counsel and direct reports in all areas of office support, including but not limited to the following:   SAP research, external invoice process management, correspondence, filing, data consolidation, report preparation, research, and communication with various departments. Position has other various responsibilities as assigned.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist Legal Department in administrative, corporate, and litigation matters.
  • Perform administrative office responsibilities including drafting correspondence, filing, indexing, organization, data entry and word processing.
  • Manage outside legal counsel invoice process.  
  • Create/update/maintain standard work for legal process (how to documents for each process).
  • Maintain and organize legal records.
  • Research legal matters, corporate history and other matters as necessary.
  • Prepare legal reports and summaries, as necessary.
  • Project management responsibilities as assigned by Legal Department personnel.
  • Plan meetings and conferences as necessary.
  • Work closely with other internal departments to coordinate projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
     

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associate Degree or equivalent with some office/administrative training preferred.
  • Some experience in a law firm or legal department helpful.
  • Advanced use of SAP.
  • Proficient use of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
     

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Self-motivated, proficient and personally accountable, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to change, handle competing priorities, meet deadlines and interact with people from all levels of the organization.
  • Spanish speaking a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction industry preferred.
     

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. 
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
