Job Summary

The Maintenance Systems Manager leads the US Aggregates maintenance systems to drive asset reliability, data quality, operational efficiency, and digital maintenance maturity across all US aggregates operations. Reporting directly to the Director, Maintenance Excellence US - Aggregates, this position serves as the primary owner for ensuring the CMMS delivers measurable improvements in maintenance efficiency, equipment reliability, data-driven decision-making, regulatory compliance, and overall operational excellence in a heavy industrial mining environment.

Deliver measurable reliability and operational outcomes by governing the tools, data, integrations, and processes that drive maintenance excellence.  . This role requires a blend of strong project management discipline, deep understanding of maintenance processes in mining/aggregates, change leadership, and stakeholder collaboration across sites, regions, and functions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of CMMS implementation and adoption across US aggregates sites, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, timelines, budgets, and business objectives.
  • Develop and execute detailed project plans, including scope, milestones, resource allocation, risk management, change control, and communication strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for CMMS-related initiatives in the USA, collaborating closely with the Director, Maintenance Excellence US - Aggregates, IT, operations leadership, site maintenance teams, vendors, and end-users.
  • Drive high user adoption through targeted change management, comprehensive training programs, user support structures, and feedback loops to address barriers and promote best-practice usage.
  • Configure, customize, and optimize the CMMS (in collaboration with IT/vendor) to meet aggregates-specific needs, including asset hierarchies, preventive maintenance strategies, work order processes, inventory/spares management, mobile access, reporting/KPIs, and integration with other systems (e.g., ERP, IoT sensors).
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for CMMS success, such as work order completion rates, PM compliance, mean time between failures (MTBF), maintenance cost reductions, data accuracy, and user satisfaction.
  • Facilitate post-implementation support, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure sustained long-term value, including regular audits, process refinements, and expansion to advanced features (e.g., predictive maintenance).
  • Manage project budgets, vendor relationships, and internal resources to deliver on-time and within scope.
  • Promote a culture of reliability-centered maintenance and data-driven excellence across US sites.
  • Provide regular progress reports, executive updates, and risk/escalation management to the Director and senior leadership.
  • Foster collaboration across functions to reduce unplanned downtime and improve asset utilization.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA safety and environmental regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and play a key role in national forums or maintenance councils.
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5 - 7+ years of progressive maintenance leadership in aggregates, mining, construction materials, or heavy industry.
  • Proven experience leading CMMS implementation (e.g., Tractian/MaintainX/Fiix, SAP PM, EAM, or comparable) across a multi-site operation.  
  • Strong knowledge of fixed plant equipment, mobile fleet management, and heavy industrial maintenance operations.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry standards (MSHA, OSHA).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and make strategic decisions to optimize performance.

Working Conditions

  • Role requires up to 50% travel and will require some after hour’s participation in industry related functions
  • Requires some work after normal business hours and on weekends, as well as ability to respond to emergency situations.
  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors

Physical Requirements

Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, and pulling to a significant degree
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of for frequently
Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
